Senior Jamie Siedlaczek of the women's golf team continues to show excellence on golf courses, but her abilities and accomplishments don't end there.

Born and raised in Canton, Mich., Siedlaczek first experienced golf when she was 6 years-old. From then on, there was no stopping her game. Siedlaczek relives the moment golf entered her life, "My first experience with golf was when I was about 6 years-old and my dad handed me a driver on the range. When I hit that first pure drive, I was hooked!"

Jamie is a double major in Accounting and Finance. She is also involved in several other organizations, and has an overall 3.97 grade point average. Siedlaczek participates in Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) and has been an RA for three years now, She also became an active member of the business fraternity, Delta Sigma Pi last semester.

"I enjoy all of my activities, but still had to prioritize them. School and golf have always remained at the top of my priority list. My philosophy is to just keeping smiling and make sure that I find something positive in each activity and interaction," said Siedlaczek.

Siedlaczek has accumulated many awards both golf and school related. During her freshman year, she was awarded GLVC freshman of the year, which was the start of several more honors.

Every year she has received a gold medallion at the Brother David Delahanty Award Ceremony along with being named All-Academic GLVC.

This semester at the Delahanty Awards, she received the Senior Student Athlete Award along with fellow senior Nick Veselka. As a sophomore, Siedlaczek was named to the National Golf Associations Division II All-American Scholar team.

Her most recent golf related award came in October when she was awarded GLVC golfer of the month. Skip Steffey, head coach of the women's golf team, describes what he felt about Siedlaczek: "She's one of those students that you can only hope that someone in return can replace her, she was the best student athlete I have ever been around."

Siedlaczek has been a very important part of the women's golf team for four years now. According to Steffey, "Losing her is immeasurable; she's a leader, a solid teammate that people can talk to for athletic or personal problems."
