The cell phone is their choice for communication with each other throughout the day. They talk at least four times a day and every night they call each other.
Despite being able to keep in touch so easily, being away from one another also brings issues into the relationship. "I definitely feel like there is trust in our relationship, but since he goes to a state school, it's overwhelming because of the environment he's in. I trust him, but it's hard not to see him," said Delgado.
Even though both Delgado and her boyfriend are faced with new people and new situations while away at school, she doesn't find it difficult to stay committed to her relationship. "We have a really strong and serious relationship, so it hasn't been a problem. I'm very loyal, so I haven't been tempted."
Despite it not being an issue being apart, having her boyfriend on the same campus would definitely make things a lot easier. "There would be less frustration because we'd see each other more. Being close might make our relationship even stronger, and I'd probably have less anxiety and trust issues," said Delgado.
But even though they're far apart, they still get to see each other every weekend.
If you're looking for a relationship on campus, but feel as though others aren't looking for the same thing, there are plenty of web sites available to find someone looking for the same thing.
Perfectmatch.com offers a campus dating program; they even state on their web site that they are "the best aproach to finding the right campus single for you."
There are also other sites available, such as campuskiss.com. Both are safe and easy, and help one find someone looking for a relationship.
Popular networking sites such as MySpace and Facebook can also help one find a partner. They are both free, and allow you to see if someone is single, if they're looking for a relationship and if you have anything in common with them.
On the other hand, if you're looking to join the trend of hooking up, Facebook allows you to voice that too, with the option of saying you're looking for "random play" and even the option of "whatever I can get."
As always, with whatever you're looking to get out of a relationship or a date, just make sure to always be safe.
