Poker aces go for broke with online gaming 10

The Daily Northwestern, Northwestern University, Evanston, IL

4 hours ago by Tommy Giglio

Few Northwestern students will be lucky to ever make the kind of money they're making. And they're unemployed.

For two recent NU alums and one Weinberg senior, money is not an issue. They don't have to worry about paying for rent, Chipotle burritos or tuition. They're loaded, and they made it all themselves playing high-stakes online poker.

As members of the international community, we must work together to make peace a reality in Africa's violent conflicts. In not acting, we betray entire populations of women caught in the middle of these wars who are brutalized, raped and forgotten in the peacemaking process.

Letter to the Editor

Torch, Roosevelt University, IL

Dear Editor, I am sure that you have heard of how infuriated many RU students are with housing. As a first year transfer student, I must say that I am grossly under whelmed with the temporary housing assignment in HCC. As you know, the Herman Crown Center is not on par with the University Center, and can not even compete with ROW.

Chicago Flame, University of Illinois, IL

5 days ago by Whitney Paige Green

The Barna Research Group recently conducted a poll to find American Christians' preferences for the upcoming presidential election. In total, 19 Christian sects were examined, and only one group preferred McCain.

It is interesting to find that Catholics seem to be leaning toward the Obama camp, despite misgivings regarding his opinions about abortion.

Print it: President Obama

Chicago Flame, University of Illinois, IL

Barack Obama makes me proud to be an American. He is intelligent, articulate, hard-working and dedicated to his goals. He came from nowhere to reach the greatest somewheres in this country. His wife is brilliant and his children are adorable. (Did you see them on the first night of the convention?) He inspires millions and millions of Americans while McCain's supporters are, if not bored then unenthused by the prospect of a McCain Presidency.
